SKOS Manifest
SKOS, Simple Knowledge Organization System builds upon Linked Data standards. SKOS makes knowledge systems, such as thesauri, taxonomies, concepts dictionaries, classification diagrams and systems for keyword assignment, generically. Many of these systems already seem very much alike, but cannot automatically be used for data analysis because of several differences. SKOS-based vocabularies are ‘machine-readable’ which stimulates linking and sharing knowledge.
Taxonic actively supports the use of SKOS to bring interoperability within government organisations to a higher level. We have therefore signed the Suppliers Manifest. This means that we use a list of mandatory standards, public and accessible best practices and deployment profiles and also join the Generic Digital Infrastructure of the National Consultation.
