Jan Voskuil attended SEMANTiCS 2023 in Leipzig. This year’s edition of SEMANTiCS, in Leipzig, was wonderful: great venue, a big turn-out and a tsunami of bright ideas and real-world use cases. It was good to be in Leipzig again, the city that is the home of DBPedia, and that played such a big part in the early days of SEMANTiCS.

Most keynotes, and some conference presentations, were about what the rise of LLMs (large language models) such as ChatGPT means for knowledge graph technology. That is the topic of this article. Jan will summarize the main points that were made, and offer some thoughts of his own.
